Per diem position available for a Designated Crisis Responder (DCR) in Port Townsend, WA. Discovery Behavioral Healthcare (DBH) is a small, non-profit Community Mental Health Center that provides comprehensive outpatient services to East Jefferson County. Including, the delivery of crisis intervention and evaluation services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The DCR provides crisis intervention services including response, outreach, evaluation, and follow-up to any individuals in East Jefferson County who identifies this need, working with the individual until the presenting crisis is resolved, and referring the individual for appropriate follow-up. In addition, function as a DCR providing evaluations to ascertain whether an individual meets criterion to be involuntarily detained should that be necessary and so detaining them as required.

Located on the Olympic Peninsula, Port Townsend is a beautiful Victorian seaport and arts community that offers vast opportunities for recreation, culture, maritime activities and entertainment.


  • Must meet the requirements for Mental Health Professional per RCW 71.05.020: a psychiatrist, psychologist, psychiatric nurse, or social worker, A Mental Health Professional may also hold a Master’s degree in a behavioral health field. Two years of experience in the mental health field is required with any degree.
  • Be licensed or certified with Washington State Department of Health
  • Be knowledgeable in crisis theory
  • When designated “On-Call” must be locally available within a 2-hour travel time to Jefferson Healthcare.
