  • Psychiatric Services & Medication Management Services

Discovery Behavioral Healthcare offers full diagnostic assessments for children, adolescent, and adult clients.  The initial Psychiatric Evaluation functions to provide an accurate psychiatric diagnosis via personal interview, family collaboration, and review of pertinent clinical information.  Collaborative family interviews are utilized with client consent.  After the evaluation is completed, appropriate and research-based medication treatments are offered.  Response to treatment is measured on a consistent basis through follow up medication management visits.

For clients presenting with a co-occurring or primary substance use disorder, medication assisted treatment is available.  Buprenorphine-naloxone induction and maintenance are offered along with naloxone, Vivitrol, and disulfiram.  Methadone is not currently offered.

The psychiatric providers at Discovery Behavioral Healthcare are an important part of each client’s multidisciplinary team.  Along with utilization of evidence based pharmacological treatment, the provider collaborates with all members of the treatment team to ensure the best outcome for each individual served.  With consent, the primary care provider is also consulted to be sure that whole person care is delivered.

In addition to the providers, the medication management team consists of registered nurses and medical assistants.  These essential team members interact frequently with clients, pharmacies, primary care providers, family members, and other disciplines to address interim client concerns.

Tailored medication adherence plans are utilized for clients with special needs to assist in maintaining stability in the community.  Specialty medications such as clozapine and long-acting injectable medications are routinely utilized for best outcomes.

Appointments are available Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm.
